Active Dates: Oct. 27, 2017 – Nov. 30, 2017

Abstract:

The HST COS observation of the recurrent nova CI Aql has been scheduled for November 2, 2017. Ground-based observations are needed to confirm the nova is not in outburst 24 hours prior to the HST observation to protect the instrumentation.

Justification:

Ground-based observations are required to ensure CI Aql is not in outburst to protect HST instrumentation. Without these observations, the HST observation will not take place.
