Observing campaign on nova in Vela - ASASSN-17mt

Active Dates: Sept. 24, 2017 – Nov. 17, 2017

Abstract:

This campaign focuses on the nova ASASSN-17mt in the constellation Vela, discovered by ASAS-SN. Observers are encouraged to conduct multi-band photometry and spectroscopy as the nova evolves. Increased and continuing optical coverage is essential, with V and I bands as the highest priority.

Justification:

Increased and continuing optical coverage of the nova ASASSN-17mt is essential, particularly in V and I bands. Associated observing campaigns and multiwavelength observations, including weekly observations with Swift, are ongoing.
