Nova Ophiuchi 2018 = PNV J17244011-2421463

Active Dates: Feb. 12, 2018 – March 6, 2018

Abstract:

A nova has been discovered in Ophiuchus, named Nova Oph 2018 or PNV J17244011-2421463, discovered by Tadashi Kojima using a Canon EOS 6D digital camera. It has been spectroscopically confirmed as a Fe II-type classical nova. Observations are encouraged in multiple bands to study the nova's evolution.

Justification:

Observations of all types (visual, CCD, DSLR, spectroscopy) and multiple bands as instrumentation permits are strongly encouraged as the nova evolves.
