Nova in Serpens: Nova Ser 2020 = N Ser 2020 = TCP J18104219-1534184

Active Dates: Feb. 22, 2020 – Feb. 24, 2020

Abstract:

A nova was discovered in Serpens on February 22, 2020, by Hideo Nishimura. The nova, TCP J18104219-1534184 (V670 Ser), was described as a Galactic classical nova shortly after maximum light. Spectra confirming the nova classification were obtained shortly after discovery.

Justification:

Observations of all types (visual, CCD, DSLR, spectroscopy) and multiple bands are strongly encouraged as the nova evolves.
