Nova in Cassiopeia: N Cas 2021

Active Dates: March 19, 2021 – None

Abstract:

This campaign is focused on observing the nova N Cas 2021 (PNV J23244760+6111140) discovered by Yuji Nakamura on March 18, 2021. The nova is a classical nova as confirmed by spectroscopy and is expected to evolve rapidly.

Justification:

Observations of all types and in multiple bands are requested as the nova evolves. Spectroscopy is particularly important to observe He II 4686, H-beta, the Bowen blend (4640A), in addition to H-alpha.

Requested Data Types:

Spectroscopy, Photometry
