GP Com to be observed with HST
Abstract:
The cataclysmic variable GP Com will be observed by the Hubble Space Telescope on January 21, 2022. Coverage is requested to begin immediately and continue through February 15, 2022. Observations are crucial to have a positive V measurement 24 hours before the scheduled HST time so the HST team can make a go-nogo decision. A minimum SNR~20 is requested. Time-series observations and spectroscopy are welcome, though monitoring to assess quiescence should have the highest priority.
Justification:
Observations are crucial to have a positive V measurement 24 hours before the scheduled HST time so the HST team can make a go-nogo decision. Monitoring to assess quiescence is necessary to avoid losing the allocated orbits.
