4 T Tau stars to be observed by HST - EL Cha observations needed urgently now
Active Dates: Feb. 28, 2022 – April 15, 2022
Abstract:
Dr. Frederick Walter requests AAVSO observers' assistance in monitoring four T Tau stars in support of HST observations scheduled for March-April 2022. Observations of EL Cha are needed urgently NOW through March 3 UT. The other three stars will be observed later in March and into April.
Justification:
As part of the HST ULLYSES program, the HST is scheduled to obtain UV spectra of a number of accreting T Tauri stars in the coming weeks. It would be helpful to have BVRI photometry for them in order to help interpret the UV spectra. These are southern targets, mostly in the Chamaeleon clouds.
