EX Lup outburst coverage requested

Active Dates: March 19, 2022 – Oct. 31, 2025

Abstract:

A long-term campaign on the Young Stellar Object EX Lup, which is going into outburst. Photometry and spectroscopy are requested to observe the color evolution around the outburst. Note: EX Lup went into outburst again in July 2024. Coverage of this outburst through October 2025 is requested.

Justification:

These outbursts might be due to the same disk instability responsible for dwarf nova eruptions, which has never been properly tested by observing color evolution throughout the outburst.

Requested Data Types:

Spectroscopy, Photometry
