Bright nova in Sco: V1723 Sco (= N Sco 2024 = PNV J17261813-3809354)
Abstract:
A bright nova, V1723 Sco, has been discovered independently by Andrew Pearce and Yukio Sakurai. Observations are ongoing to study its evolution.
Justification:
The nova offers an opportunity to observe various stages of stellar evolution and nucleosynthesis. Observations of all types (visual, CCD/CMOS, DSLR, spectroscopy) and multiple bands as instrumentation permits are recommended.
